Welcome to Ayr Jazz Club

We are delighted that you have found us on the web.   As a result of two successful jazz festivals in 2003/4, Ayr Jazz Club was founded in 2005 to bring live music to the jazz enthusiasts of all Ayrshire and beyond.  Our festivals continued until 2008 and since those early days we have had the pleasure of listening to a varied range of bands from Dixieland to New Orleans and Trad, as well as music from the 1920 - 30's. For only £10 (members £8) why not come along and enjoy up to 3 hours of scintillating music?  Our next event is shown below.

Dear Members

I am delighted to inform you that, all being well, we hope to recommence the Jazz Club on Friday 22 October.

We commence with one of Britain’s foremost Revivalist Jazz Bands, the Pedigree Jazz Band and the evening will be held at the Horizon Hotel, Ayr commencing at 7.30pm.

The Pedigree last performed at Ayr Jazz Club on 28 July 2017 with their “Salute to Trad Jazz” evening and they were very well received.

It is crucial, however, that we have sufficient numbers attending on the evening, to avoid embarrassment to both the band and the hotel and of course ourselves in our

attempt to get things going again.  We would therefore ask you to inform us of your intentions before the end of September so that we have a fair indication of likely numbers by telephoning Stuart (01292-590773) or Linda (01292-263834) or replying by e-mail.  With the possibility of a restriction in numbers, we recommend that you claim your place now by phoning either of the above numbers (leave a message if necessary) or by text to Linda.

On the strength of this planned evening we hope to go a stage further by holding a “Party Night” on Friday 26 November at The Fairfield Hotel.  It will, of course be necessary to book for this and further details will be issued following our committee meeting on 7 September.

With reference to the Rugby Club itself, their AGM is on 25 August followed by an EGM in September to discuss the future and venue of the Rugby Club.

Look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your support.

Best wishes
Stuart McLean

Chairman- Ayr Jazz Club
